My client is a highly successful distribution business with a reputably brand which is well known throughout the transport and logistic sectors. They have been primarily been working with the major UK retailers, HGV trailer manufacturers, and major bus companies. Recently acquired by a proactive private equity group, they are based in a modern, and recently refurbished Grade 2 listed building in West Yorkshire. As they embark on an exciting and ambitious growth journey, they are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join their team, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The Role:
The Sales Manager will be pivotal in driving and delivering their sales strategy. This role involves managing UK sales, acquiring new customers domestically and internationally, and spearheading their export sales efforts, particularly in North America. You will also oversee new product launches and represent the company at trade exhibitions and industry forums.
· Collaborate with the Managing Director to develop and implement the commercial and sales strategy.
· Manage sales across the UK, engaging with major retailers and other existing key clients.
· Acquire new customers and expand their market presence both domestically and internationally.
· Develop and execute sales plans for new product launches.
· Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
You:
· Proven experience in external sales and/or business development in a B2B environment
· Knowledge of the transport and/or logistics industry.
· Track record of success in new business development and consistently exceeding sales targets.
· Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach to uncovering new opportunities.
· Strong ability to build rapport, establish trust, and communicate effectively.
· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Ability to create compelling presentations and proposals.
· Full UK driving licence.
