With listings in major retailers and a strong presence in independents and farm shops, this brand is experiencing significant growth. As the business expands into new categories, they are seeking a talented Category Manager to play a pivotal role in driving category performance and strategy.

The Role:

As a Category Manager, you’ll report to the Category Development Director and be at the forefront of shaping category strategy. You’ll build strong relationships with retail partners, provide data-driven insights, and influence key stakeholders to drive sales and distribution.

 You’ll work closely with commercial teams, marketing, and cross-functional teams to lead category initiatives. From analysing shopper and market data to optimising promotional and ranging strategies, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering growth for both the business and its customers.

  • Build strong, advisory relationships with key buyers, acting as a trusted category expert.

  • Deliver regular category updates and provide data-driven insights that challenge and inspire retailers.

  • Identify risks and opportunities across distribution, sales, and promotional strategies, offering clear recommendations.

  • Lead category input on NPD initiatives and contribute to the overarching category vision for customers.

  • Stay ahead of market trends and leverage historical data to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Provide insights to marketing and commercial teams on pricing, promotions, events, and NPD/EPD.

 

You:

  • A proven track record in Category Management within FMCG, with experience influencing buyers and key stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into compelling stories and commercial opportunities.

  • Confident in delivering high-impact presentations and building strong relationships with retail partners.

  • Proactive, strategic, and commercially driven, with the ability to navigate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Proficiency in category analysis tools and Excel.
